What is Freedom (Freedom Part 1)

The flowers bloom, the wind blows, the waves crash. Absence of personal control; yet complete and total freedom.

What is freedom?

Some may say it is the ability to make any decision. However, I want to propose freedom as the ability to walk in surrender.

Think about the times you are at a crossroads in decision making. Where you thought you had freedom of choice, you quickly became bound to the thought of making the wrong choice. You have become shackled to the fear that your “free” choice is the wrong choice.

In surrender, we say less of me, more of You. More of You Jesus, more of You God.

Less of me, more of You.

In surrender, we bring room for true freedom to thrive.

The only true freedom that makes a positive difference in every life aspect, is the freedom we find through Jesus Christ.

As an over thinker, I find freedom through surrendering my plans to Jesus. Allowing the Creator of the Universe to have every say, gives me more freedom than I could ever ask for.

How much more rest and relief can you receive when you are no longer the micromanager of your life, but you get to be like the flower, depending on God to help you bloom. Like the wind, flowing through the day at His command. Like the wave, resting in the peace and tranquility, yet ready when called upon to crash on the sand and pour onto others what He has poured onto you in abundance.

2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Galatians 5:1, “For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

Galatians 5:13, “For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.”
